OUR PATRONESS - Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Our Lady of Mount Carmel College, Emekuku, is proudly placed under the loving patronage of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the Blessed Virgin Mary, who has been honoured throughout the centuries as a model of faith, humility, obedience and loving service to God.
As our Patroness, Mary, inspires every member of our college community to imitate her virtues by living lives of holiness, integrity, compassion and selfless service. She teaches us to listen attentively to God's word, to trust in His providence and to respond generously to His call.
The Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, celebrated each year on 16 July, is one of the most significant events in the life of our college. It provides an opportunity for the entire school community to renew its commitment to the values of faith, discipline, academic excellence and Christian witness.
Entrusting our students, staff, parents, alumni and benefactors to the maternal care of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, we pray that she will continue to guide and protect our college as we pursue our mission of educating young women who will excel in knowledge, character, leadership and service.
Inspired by her example, we strive each day to ensure that "That Decency and Knowledge May Prevail."
