ADMISSION PROCEDURE [ JS: 1-3, SS: 1-2 ]

The process of admitting candidates into Our Lady of Mount Carmel College is divided into three (3) phases.

• The first phase is a written examination in Mathematics, English Language and General Paper. Candidates are required to come with Pen, HB Pencil and Eraser
• The second phase is a face-to-face interview of the prospective students and their parents by the principal, dean of studies and head teachers.
• The last phase is the acceptance of the admission and resumption.
This admission process starts with the purchase of forms from September of the previous year through to the examination day which is usually on a Saturday in March.

Age Consideration

At Our Lady of Mount Carmel College, a new intake into JS1 must be at the least, Ten years of age (10) by August of the year of entry into the school. A student in the boarding house must be mature enough to take good care of herself, carry out the normal daily routine and still be able to face her studies. Also, this age limitation is to ensure that the girls are at least 16 years old when leaving the school. We hope parents would understand this stance of the school and co-operate with us to produce mature ladies for the next phase of their lives.

Fees

1. The Admission Form fee is N1,000. Completed application/admission forms should be submitted to the school, on or before the day of the Entrance Examination. Forms may be available for sale on the exam day.
2. The Exam/Interview fee is N2,000 along with a payment of N5,000 to enable cadidates receive the School Prospectus. (Total is N8,000)

2026/2027 School Year:
Entrance Examinations and Interviews

The Entrance Examination at the main hall of the school premises/Exam Center is by 9:00am prompt on the 7th of March, 2026. A second date may be announced for another batch of candidates to partake in the entrance examinations. (Usually a few days later, so all successful candidates can attend the interview together). However, private examinations may be conducted thereafter for those who were unable to meet the advertised dates.

Successful candidates will be posted on the school website at the Admission list and are invited for the Interview on the 9th of May, 2026 by 9:00am prompt at the main hall of the school premises. Candidates should also come along with a photocopy of their Baptismal Card.

This is the list of successful candidates who sat for the entrance examination and have also been accepted after the subsequent interview.

The new intakes will need the prospectus as a guide to prepare for the new classroom registration and dormitory placement at the school. The School Propectus contains a list of items for use by the candidate at school and all the neccesary fees to be paid.
